- Hiring committee - Puente Counselor/Coordinator: No objections
- PE/Athletics Dean Hiring committee: discussion on whether PTers should be a part of committee, suggesting Mary Donahue as PT rep on committee, Arden Kragalott will be in Ohio - cannot participate on committee, Paul Klingman suggested to approve, Iva - for administrative position, should include PT in hiring committee; replace Arden with Mary Donahue

- Classified Senate said resolution not specific enough, did not address Classified need specifically
- Veronica Avila - who originally drafted, Jim Nguyen - from SD Mesa
- Rob Clem suggested vote of no confidence in FHDA chancellor
- Veronica Avila - going to board meeting to support classified and faculty; go forward
- Mary Sullivan - State chancellor not for our students
- Pauline Wellington - Our house is mess, need to be unified to move forward - delay putting out word

Legislative Discussion/Advocacy
- Funding formula - 3-year phase - performance-based funding 70-20-10
- Want to move forward with AA degrees
- FA needs faculty to staff table for election

- What is trustee leadership doing to make us fiscally sound
- Bob - Where is the advocacy? Is this board independent of chancellor’s office? Some board members not aware of specific concerns
- Paul Klingman - reactionary force? Administration with closed-door meetings
- Veronica Avila - Paul Klingman - inspires - “It may not be illegal, but it’s unethical”
- Couple minutes to make posters for board meeting

- All candidates ran unopposed, a couple of write-ins
- Concern that not everyone got link to vote

Curriculum Revisions/Initiation for Senate Consideration
- Erik Woodbury - discussion with FA for approvement for curriculum before end of quarter
- Some affected by AB 705
- Some must be articulated before fall
- Encouraged to contact curriculum rep for division to go to represent at meeting
- Woodbury motion to table discussion to future meeting
- Mary Pape - question of calling back last week’s initiator for tomorrow
- Woodbury - Should be most prepared, try to move things forward as quickly as possible
- Pauline Wellington - An initiator, but will not be present
- Woodbury - Alternative could be present
- Need to have quorum in order for meeting to move forward
IPBT/Viability Update and Scheduling Considerations/Enrollment

- 1320 - cut addition $3 million from PT and overload
- Suggestions on how to cut
- Viability committee - 21 programs - recommended to IPBT
- Eliminate 1 FTEF from dance
- Fitness Center - CTR 100% move to fund 15
- Music to stay but remove ADT and AA
- Paralegal - eliminate and phase out
- Red Wheelbarrow - work with dept. to redesign
- Football - Still under review
- Eliminate Mens/Womens tennis
- Massage therapy - eliminate and teach out
- Water Polo - M/W under review
- World languages - staying, but down sizing, only offer 3 and 4 levels every couple of years
- Photography - reduction of FTET
- Wildlife - Still under review
- Rob Clem - If we eliminate career programs - are other colleges in area offering same program?
- Woodbury - Looking at more programs tomorrow (6/12)
- Looking at depts. that are under 90% fill rate - deans met to make further cuts
- Looking to reduce additional FTEF reduction
- Have to reduce 475 sections over next year
- Courses thinking of cutting may be essential to transfer and ADT
- Mary Pape - When will deans let us know what to cut?
- Cheryl Balm - Math cutting 80 sections because of AB 705 - cut 70-80/quarter
- Can’t get anything for Fall 2019
- Woodbury - Will students enroll in other math courses?
- Balm - Not enough staff to move things as fast; students will probably going to go to other schools
- Kevin Glapion - If students enroll, will they be placed in correct level
