Celebrating Our Achievements

June 22, 2025

Dear Campus Community,

With just a week until commencement, I find myself reflecting on the extraordinary achievements that have defined the 2024-25 academic year. This year of transition has been marked by resilience, a commitment to innovation, and the unwavering dedication that makes our institution exceptional.

Throughout this academic year, we have witnessed remarkable accomplishments across every corner of our campus. Our students have excelled not only in their academic pursuits but have also demonstrated leadership in community service and creative endeavors that will have lasting impact. Our faculty have continued to push the boundaries of knowledge while providing the mentorship and guidance that transform lives. Our classified professionals have worked tirelessly, some as the first point of contact for our students and others behind the scenes, to ensure the smooth operations that make our campus a place where learning and growth can flourish. Meanwhile, our administrators have led the work to ensure that the college remains responsive to the evolving needs of our students and surrounding communities. Our district colleagues have been our partners, and the chancellor and trustees excellent leaders in their roles.

The commitment we have shown to our students' success has never been more evident. From expanded support services and responsive academic programs to enhanced career development opportunities, we have consistently prioritized what matters most: helping each student reach their full potential. The graduates we will celebrate next week are a testament to this shared commitment, and I am immensely proud of what they have accomplished during their time with us.

As we prepare to send our graduating class into the world, I want to acknowledge the entire campus community for the role you have played in their success. During the summer, I encourage everyone to please take time to rest, recharge and reflect on the meaningful work we do together. You have earned this respite, and I hope in the fall to see everyone renewed and ready for another year of excellence, with much to do to meet the goals we are setting for ourselves.

Thank you for your continued dedication to our mission. In the face of so much current fear and unrest in the nation and the world, each of you is making a meaningful difference through your care for our students and each other. I look forward to celebrating with you at commencement as we honor our graduates and mark the conclusion of another successful academic year. I hope to see you next Sunday, June 29, at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Please remember to RSVP to ensure your seat of honor on the stage — and many, many thanks to our wonderful volunteers.

With gratitude and best wishes for a restful summer,
Omar
