Quick Notes for the Week of June 2
Graduation Is Sunday, June 29
Apply for Your Degree and Order Grad Packs
This year's collegewide grad ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 29, beginning at 3 p.m. in the Santa Clara Convention Center, 5001 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara, California.
Everyone is invited to submit digital Congrats Cards for a favorite grad, or the entire Class of 2025.
If you're planning to graduate this year, please remember these deadlines:
- File for your degree by Monday, June 16, if you want your name listed in the printed souvenir program.
- Order your grad pack – including cap, gown, tassel and diploma cover – and other regalia no later than Monday, June 16, so items arrive in time for the big day.
- Submit a message and photo for the optional Graduation Slideshow no later than Monday, June 23.
There is no deadline to participate in the commencement ceremony, but you must apply for your degree by June 27 in order to have it awarded for spring quarter.

Commencement Livestream
For those who can’t make it to the Convention Center, the event will be livestreamed with captions, beginning at 3 p.m. at deanza.edu/graduation.

Students and their families can attend a variety of end-of-year celebrations in anticipation of Commencement.

- Student Leadership Recognition Gala – Wednesday, June 4, 4-6 p.m., in Conference Rooms A&B
- MESA/MPS End of Year Celebration – Thursday, June 5, 12:15-1:30 p.m., in Conference Rooms A&B
- 46th Annual Student Film and Video Show – Friday, June 6, at 7 p.m., in the Visual and Performing Arts Center

Share Your Good News
Have you been accepted to a four-year institution? Let us know which college or university you are attending by filling out the Share Your Good News form. You will also have the option to be added to the Transfer Center’s mailing list to receive updates on events like the Transfer Achievement Celebrations on Monday, June 16, and Tuesday, June 17.
Campus Climate Survey
De Anza College is administering a survey on the quality and extent of interaction between various groups and individuals at the college through the RP Group, an independent third party.
Please complete the survey to share your feedback. All responses are confidential.
This Week
Rising Forward: Journeys of Transition and Transformation
Current and former students in the Rising Scholars and California Youth Leadership Corps will share their personal stories about struggle and achievement.
Everyone's invited to join the community dialogue. Snacks will be provided. PGA credit is available for faculty and staff members.
The event will take place this Tuesday, June 3, from 3-4 p.m. You can attend in person in the Multicultural Center or on Zoom.
Diversity in Politics Panel This Friday, June 6
De Anza Student Government will be hosting a panel of elected officials this Friday, June 6, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., in Conference Rooms A&B. Campbell Mayor Sergio Lopez, Assemblymember Ash Kalra and Berryessa Union School District Trustee Jaria Jaug will answer questions and engage in meaningful discussions with the audience.
Spring Stock Competition This Friday, June 6
The Mathematical Investment and Trading Society will host their spring stock competition this Friday, June 6, from 6-9 p.m., on Zoom. Please register by this Friday, May 30. You will receive the Zoom link after submitting the form. Students can participate individually or in teams to analyze and present on stock from the top 100 largest companies.

Summer Cyber Camps at De Anza
The Bay Area Cyber League, in conjunction with the Bay Area Community College Consortium, is hosting two cybersecurity camps at De Anza this summer. The camps are open to high school and community college students.
The introductory camp will run from June 16-20 and the intermediate camp will run from from June 23-27. Both camps will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day.
Campers should have basic computer skills, but do not need cybersecurity experience. It is recommended that students enroll in the introductory camp before the intermediate camp, as the concepts build on each other. The summer camps are for students ages 14-25.
De Anza Academy
There's Still Time to Enroll
Parents can register K-12th graders now for programs offered this summer by the De Anza College Academy. Classes start Monday, June 30, and run through Friday, July 25. The academy is open to students of all school districts. Registration is open now through Thursday, June 26.
Courses for middle and high school students will include robotics, coding, 3D printing, science, sports, writing, mathematics, graphic design and more. Art classes for kindergarten through fifth grade students will also be offered at West Valley Elementary.
De Anza Academy courses are taught only for enrichment purposes – credits, grades and homework are not offered. Spots fill quickly, so make sure to register soon.
