Advisor Announcements

• Maritza: Some staff had health issues which has caused a delay in our club accounts processing times; if you ever need to check in and you haven't received an email from us in a while, be sure to utilize ICC Office Hours and drop in to get your questions, concerns and comments addressed. You are also welcome to send a follow up email if need be. 
  • We are clarifying the process for making Pro Zoom Accounts for clubs with ETS
  • Be sure to Sign In! If in person, use the physical sign-in sheets; If on Zoom be sure to complete the Google Form + Rename yourself to include your "First & Last Name + Club Name" It eliminates confusion and ensures that we are recording accurate attendance.

ICC Executive Updates

• Will W: Thank you to everyone applying for the Vice Chair of ICC Finance position; decision will be made by Friday, November 3, 2023. 
• Sean H: Regarding office hours -- will not be available on Friday, November 3rd to fulfill personal obligations, however, if any you have any questions be sure to email Sean Htet and will get back to you as soon as possible. 

Calendar updates

• ICC

  • New Club Applications for Fall CLOSED - review of new applications will resume at the start of Winter Quarter
  • 2023 De Anza Homecoming Events! Homecoming Dance Fri 11/17 (6-9 PM) & Homecoming Pre-Game Festivities Sat 11/18 (10 AM - 12 PM) Parking Lot C, followed by football game vs. Foothill.

• Clubs

  • College Leap at De Anza: is holding another collaboration event with Honors Society; an extracurricular workshop that brings in student leaders, people who have participated in internships, research opportunities as well as club officer opportunities discussing how they applied to those positions and the benefits of doing so. If you are a first or second year, come by on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 11:30AM to 1:00PM in room S55. 
  • VSA: is currently planning our Cultural Gala. We hope to be able to create a fun night with food, music, and dancing and would especially love to include the other De Anza clubs. We would love for any clubs who are interested in attending, planning, or performing to fill out this form. For more information or for the form again, feel free to message our insta @deanzavsa!!

  • 3D Printing Club: Discord https://discord.gg/cDbrD6b3jX we have a fun RC Plane project going on this quarter. 
  • The Art Guild Club: is hosting a halloween-themed art contest! Artists have until Nov. 5th to post their submission to our discord server. The winner will be featured on our club’s Instagram (unless they don’t want to be) and receive a special prize!!

Homecoming Overview

• Hoco Dance on November 17, 2023 6-9pm. Dance will be an opportunity to have fun, photo booth etc; bring your DASG ID Card.
• Homecoming Pre-game Social: Food & Beverages will be provided for FREE as long as you bring your DASG ID Card. Day/Time: Saturday, November 18, 2023 (10am-12pm). Stay for the game which starts at 1 PM!
  
  • Any clubs committed to bringing their full club team, you will have an opportunity to table and gain visibility as a club. 
  • Limited tables and chairs will be available; please keep in mind. 
  • Goal is to have a specific table to sit and eat food; will not be a place to bring club materials as well as a form for volunteering throughout the weekend. Coming soon, be on the lookout and check your email. 
  • Google Form will be sent out to request a club tent/table.

• Volunteering for Homecoming Events:  

  • Expect to lift and move things around!
  • Also looking for support with the new mascot, De Anza Swag giveaways, the person to hype people up during the game as well as support with setting up for the dance etc. 
  • Email will be sent out with Google Form for Volunteering; Time slots will be indicated and you can choose what works with your schedule. 

• Additional Announcements:

• Maritza: Working with Dr. Kim Lee from the mental health & wellness center will be joining us for the next meeting to put on a presentation to cope with stress. 
• If you have questions during meetings, please don't just DM Maritza -- it can be tough to manage in the moment while helping managing the meeting. If you have general questions, put them in a chat so a member of the ICC team can help.
• Clubs should be having meetings; send an email to ICC Secretary including: Agenda with Meeting Notes, Screenshot that shows Attendees + Time & Date of the Meeting (Do not crop be sure to show the date & time) as well as a sign in sheet including: Name, Signature, Info discussed in the meeting, and date + time. If you have questions regarding spaces let Maritza know. 
• Many clubs that have not submitted an UPDATED financial roster. Any club with no updated roster by the end of the quarter will automatically be put on probation. For reimbursements and room spaces -- it's essential to have an advisor. Please bear with us there are over 100 clubs we have been in communication with! We appreciate your patience. 

Public Comments

• Joel Ng: Joel will be starting a DA ICC Discord to improve communication; is taking feedback from members etc. Several channels available to include specific information that is also locate on the website. General information, announcements, feedback etc. Will be pushed out by next Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Discord will NOT be a place to submit financial rosters, reimbursements, etc. - more for announcements and questions.
