Certificate/Degree Programs

Beginning in the Academic Year 2008-2009, De Anza College will offer the following certificate or degree options in selected career/occupational areas:

  • Certificates of Achievement (18-26 units)
  • Certificates of Achievement-Advanced (range of 27 - 45 units)
    • In extenuating circumstances (e.g. to meet market/industry needs or licensing requirements, vocational programs may go up to a maximum of 60 units).
  • Associate (Associate in Arts and Associate in Science) degrees (min. 27 units for the major)
  • Associate (Associate in Arts for Transfer and Associate in Science for Transfer) degrees for transfer (min. 27 units for the major)

In developing certificates and degrees, a ladder structure occurs where units earned in the Certificate of Achievement apply toward the Certificate of Achievement-Advanced and then apply toward the A.A. or A.S. Degree in the same program.
