• Jayven- announced that internal candidates for Budget Analyst do not have to stay for the meeting, elections will most likely be tabled to a future meeting, in the next coming weeks.
• Gabe- Shared concerns with internal elections and communication going forward with the admin committee
• Alan- announced prospective Budget Analyst that are here, elections will be pushed back.

Advisor Announcements

• Dennis- Election code process for internal elections is Article 7
• Hyon Chu- "We apologize regarding elections being moved out due to technicallities and comittiees not being fully staffed. Looking at changing, protocol for next year. Some technical things that, happened, are out of our control, because these are things that we have to change in our bylaws, so we can't just change things without changing our bylaws. So, so that was,part of the reason why, there was this mix-up tonight. So, we do apologize for all of those that are here that came prepared, and, but now you have another week to, practice, and, and we will make sure that, you will receive clear communication moving forward, and we will be serving dinner next week."
• Maritza- She will be on zoom listening in and getting ready for Club Day.

Town Hall Meeting discussion with Chancellor Lee Lambert

Discussion with Chancellor Lee Lambert

• Key topics including college leadership transitions and parking concerns. Chancellor Lee Lambert announced that Dr. David Wain Coon will serve as the acting president, starting in May, following Dr. Omar Torres' resignation. The discussion addressed parking issues at De Anza College, with concerns raised about inadequate and unsafe parking spaces. The Chancellor explained that while the current parking layout is problematic, funding challenges prevent immediate improvements, though public parking fees will eventually be implemented while maintaining free parking for students. The meeting also touched on the need to address the impact of potential parking space changes on the flea market vendors who have long-term space allocations.

2026–2027 DASG Internal Officer Elections for Budget Analyst

Discussion regarding elections timeline

The Senate discussed the scheduling and process for upcoming internal elections, particularly for the finance committee with 16 candidates. They decided to conduct interviews one by one rather than together, and agreed to table the Budget Analyst internal elections indefinitely. The group also planned to have a clear communication process about the interview format before the next meeting,
