When does my money arrive?

Your award letter will include a Financial Aid Disbursement Date. This is the date, typically the first day of the quarter, when your financial aid funds are "disbursed," which means they are deposited into your student account at De Anza.

This money will be applied first to any outstanding charges that you owe to the college. The remaining money will then be “refunded” to you.  Our school delivers your refund with BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution, powered by BMTX, Inc.

Upcoming Refund Dates

The major Pell grant refund dates are listed below. Funds will be available via BankMobile Disbursements.

Fall 2026 Quarter

  • Friday,  September 25th, 2026
  • Friday, November 6th, 2026

If you are getting a Pell grant:

Eligible award amounts for Pell Grant are determined by enrollment intensity, also known as active enrollment, at the time of census each quarter. Enrollment intensity is calculated as a percentage of Full-Time enrollment (12 academic units) rounded to the nearest whole percent.

Example: A student is enrolled in 7 academic units

The enrollment intensity would be 7 / 12 x 100% = 58%

Eligibility for the Pell Grant is determined by information submitted on the FAFSA. All students must be a high school graduate or have received the equivalent to a high school diploma to be eligible to receive this grant.

Cal Grants and Student Success Grant disbursement information.

Cal Grant and Student Success Grants(SCG) are disbursed the Tuesday after census date, which is Tuesday, October 6th, 2026.  The refund should be available on Friday, October 16th, 2026.  For Summer quarter, Cal Grant awards are unavailable. We begin awarding late August and will disbursed in the Fall quarter.  For those students enrolled in 12-14.99 units, they will receive approximately $866 for SCG.  For those enrolled in 15 or more units, they will receive approximately $2,666 for SCG.

Some things to remember:

Funds are generally “disbursed” to your student account on a Monday and “refunded” the following Friday. In order for this to occur

  • You must be approved for and awarded Financial Aid.
  • You must be enrolled in the required number of units at least one week before the quarter starts.
  • You must be in good standing, warning or probation status for Satisfactory Academic Progress. (You should not be disqualified.)

If you have not received your refund on the scheduled date, please check your Satisfactory Academic Progress status on MyPortal, under the Financial Aid tab.

Adjustments or reverse disbursements may occur if you increase or reduce the number of units in which you are enrolled, or if you are subject to a “Return of Title IV” repayment.

If all courses enrolled in are considered late start, or mid-quarter starts, the 30 day delay is in effect from the start of courses.  The late start courses also have a census date, at which time we will evaluate Pell grant eligibility.

Important Fall 2026 Update:

Due to ongoing federal regulatory changes, De Anza College is currently awaiting finalized processing guidelines from the U.S. Department of Education. As a result, student loans for the 2026–2027 academic year cannot be certified or disbursed at this time.

We appreciate your patience as we work through these federal updates. This page will be updated as soon as official disbursement schedules are finalized.
