Welcome to SSRS

Join one of our programs and you'll find a welcoming community of students, instructors, counselors and staff – along with peer mentors and tutors – who can support you in defining your educational goals and developing a plan to achieve them.

There are several programs under the SSRS umbrella, including First Year Experience (FYE), IMPACT AAPI, Pride, Puente, Umoja, and Summer Bridge.

Summer Bridge Schedule of Activities

Summer Bridge will be held on Monday-Wednesday, Aug. 26-28.

SSRS stands for Student Success and Retention Services. We provide academic enrichment and support services for

  • First-generation college students
  • Students from groups that have been historically underrepresented in retention and transfer rates

Our Programs Offer

  • Personal counseling
  • Academic mentoring and coaching
  • Study groups
  • Leadership development
  • Access to computer center
  • Campus tours of four-year universities
  • Academic enrichment workshops
  • Scholarship and financial aid information

How To Apply

We will begin accepting applications to our programs in May.

All SSRS programs begin in the summer with individual program orientations and our Summer Bridge experience.

If you are interested in joining any of our SSRS programs, please complete the following steps:

  1. Apply to De Anza College
  2. Make sure the Assessment Office has your high school transcript, in order to determine your English placement.
  3. Complete the SSRS interest form (click the button below)
  4. Attend orientation for the college or a specific program in July.
  5. Attend Summer Bridge in late August.

Our Mission

The mission of Student Success and Retention Services is to address historical and institutional inequities resulting in achievement gaps for underserved students by fostering a community of learners and leaders through innovative services and pedagogies that increase retention, persistence, graduation, and transfer rates.
